22nd June: Panel session on Social Media Inside the Firewall

For our next KMLF meeting we’re planning to try something a little different. We’re going to be running a highly interactive panel session on the topic of “social media inside the firewall”, or SMIF for short. Also known as Enterprise 2.0, or Intranet 2.0, this is the use of tools such as blogs, wikis, rss, tags, etc inside an organisation.

We will explore any questions about this topic but some examples might be:

  • What lessons can organisations we learn from the use of these tools in the Internet?
  • And perhaps more importantly, which lessons don’t apply?
  • How can you encourage adoption of these tools?
  • What are the likely benefits?

We’re looking for at least one KMLF member to join us on the panel. Please email us if you have experience and/or a strong interest in this topic and would be able to join us in Melbourne on the 22nd June.

Full session details to follow once we’ve confirmed the panel.

Consumers of MP3s with an interest in tagging and folksonomies might like to listen to ‘Tagging 2.0′ a panel discussion recorded at South by South West (SxSW), March 2006.
